Neurologist 's  Response

First of all, the patient with epilepsy can stop taking the medications after two-year normal EEG and there is no symptom during this period. If the EEG findings still occur or you have the symptoms you cannot stop the medications. If you cannot tolerate the side effect s of the medications, you can ask your doctor about other methods such as vagus nerve stimulation, ketogenic diet and a surgical operation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
