Is There A Chance Of Getting Chlamydia After Oral Sex With My Partner?

If I was treated for chlamydia and the same day I took the medication I had oral sex with my partner not knowing at the time I could get reinfected through the throat do I need the medication again now? I know you have to get a retest in 6 weeks but that's a long time for me to be worried.

Hi there.
As I understand your question & description, YOU were the one infected with chlamydia & received the treatment for the same. I take it this was under the care of a registered medical practitioner. If so, you were/are in good hands.
During the treatment phase, you seemed to have indulged in oral sex & are wondering if the medication needs be re-taken. I take it the chlamydial status of the partner is either unknown or negative. In either case, as you have received definitive treatment in the past 24 hrs & assuming the medication is some form of tetracycline, then given the half life of the medication is more than 24 hrs, you should be safe & covered. However, as always, I recommend practice of safe sex. Good Luck!
