Is There A Chance Fistula Will Turn Malignant If It Is Not Treated ?

I am 43 year young healthy male with a fistula for last 3 years that apart from minor discomfort appears to be mainly dormant (no blood or any discharge, no health problems in family). What options do I have for treatment and if untreated, is there a chance this will turn malignant?

There is a chance of infection if left untreated since fistula is a connection between the inside and the outside environment. This is not cancer per say that it will turn malignant.A small surgery is done to correct the fistula.Recovery time is standard.
