Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is The Swelling And Pain At The Site Of ACL Surgery Normal?
Hello I had a ACL surgery two weeks ago, there was a lot of swelling but now it is not has bad but I have a lump under of considerable size and it is very sensitive. Whenever I get up even though I am still not putting any weight on it, I fell a lot of pressure in that same area. I know it is still early but is it normal.
I have studied your case and I can assure you that some amount of pain and swelling is normal but if pain is very severe and swelling is growing then you need to see your doctor. Some time it can be sign of infection. You have not mentioned about inflammation of margin or any discharge, as if it is present then it is sure sign of infection. Your doctor may asked you to get blood investigations like ESR, CRP and WBC to see if there is some infection present in the blood.
