Is The Growth On Tonsils And Vocal Cord Cancerous?
I recently went to an ENT specialist. It was determined that I had a growth on my tonsil about 15mm and odd shaped like a 7 sided dice. no odd coloring. he scoped me and also found a growth on my vocal cord. My voice is very horse and my throat hurts. my glands are swollen. He seemed alarmed and told me he wanted to schedule me for surgery as soon as possable. But his only opening was 10 days from now. When I went to scheduling they said that the only opening was 17 days from now. I am very worried and want to have this removed immediately. Should I wait the 17 days or could this be so urgent that I call around to other ENT specialists to find an earlier date? If it is cancer how quickly can it spread in this area? I have had these symptoms for two weeks.
Hi.. Greetings of the day... I would like to know the following details ... 1.age? 2.history of smoking... If you are elderly and with a chronic history of smoking and such a swelling that is irregular growth in tonsil and vocal cord...with nodes in the neck and hoarse voice...yes that could be cancerous swelling...I would recommend a CT Scan of neck to find out the stage and spread and a biopsy from the swelling and FNAC that is using a fine needle cells are aspirated from neck nodes if present...arrive at definitive diagnosis and stage.. Then proceed to either radiation therapy or surgery....yes if could get an earlier appointment from ant ENT well and good...go ahead get it treated...if you have any additional symptoms , doubt's ...you can always get back to healthcare magic..good luck....
