Is The Dilaudid Pump Causing Digestive Problems After A Bowel Resection Surgery?
Imy husband had a bowel resection and adhesions removed after a surgery he had 20 years ago. He has been on Norco for twenty years. After this surgery 2 weeks ago he is still on dilaudid pump. His bowels are moving slowly and he is still in the hospital. Is dilaudid causing him more problems with his digestion?

As per my surgical experience, the Dilaudid pump is known to produce GI disturbances in form of constipation or diarrhea in a varying number of patients.
Addition of bulk forming laxatives will help to sooth the issue.
