Is Tenderness Around The Kidney Area Due To Kidney Infection?

I thought I had a u.t.i I went to a local minute clinic and took the test it can back as a slight trace was given an antibiotic , took it for 3 days as directed I have been having pain in my kidneys for 3 weeks along with tenderness in my overviews the same sensation that I had when I thought I had a u.t.I. I have been treated over 15 years ago for kidney stones at which I was informed that I had many small stones that I was carrying I have had 2 removed in past years. Could this pain be from a kidney infection . I am going through menopause and have not had a period for almost a year.

Hi it could be an infection that has spread to the kidney but only an ultrasound of the abdomen with a urine test will be able to confirm. If you are having recurrent UTI it's important to confirm if the infection has spread higher. If it's renal calculi again an ultrasound will be able to confirm it. I hope this helps. Take care :)
