Is Teething Or The Lump Behind The Ear Causing The Child Unhappy?

My 1 year old grandson has been teething and is very stuff at this point. He also appears to have a small lump to the rear and just below his left ear. He is not really cranky, but he's not his usual happy self either. Not sure at this point what we should do.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Sounds like teething. I don't believe the bump you describe is causing him any grief. There are many eays to approach teething. One, is to offer him anything safe to chew on, ie: a teething ring. Often the counterpressure ptoduced by gumming a teething ring is enough to relieve the discomfort. If this doesn't work, i suggest consulting with your pediatician for other ideas.

General Surgeon Dr. Deepak Kishore Kaltari's  Response
Hi
welcome to Healthcare=Magic
Greetings of the day''
It could possibly be a small lymph node, which is the commonest swelling based on the location described by you.
If the swelling persists do consult a Pediatrician for further assessment.
