Is Taking Wysolone And HCQs, Sazo 500 For Reactive Arthritis Safe During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 26 years old female. I am suffering from Reactive arthritis and my rheumatologist has prescribed me wysolone 2.5 mg everyday. I am also 7 weeks pregnant. Please tell me if it is safe to have wysolone and HCQS, Sazo 500 are safe during pregnancy. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

During pregnancy Reactive arthritis (ReA) can be treated with low doses of prednisone; out of disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD), hydroxychloroquine and sulfasalazine are probably the safest.

Pregnancy: Category C (prednisolone/wysolone). Safety not established HCQs-Pregnancy: Category C.
Sazo (Sulfasalazine) Pregnancy: Category B
Category B drugs
Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Category C drugs
Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant the use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
