Is Taking Three Tablets Of Pariot A Day Safe?

I have been taking losec (20 mg) for almost 20 years. Recently it became less effective and my doctor had me switch to pariot (sp?). This medication at 20 MG only seems to work if I take 2 to 3 tablets a day. Is this safe? Should I try an other Medication? I am scheduled for an upper GI scope in March of next year.

Pariet is normally served at 20mg/day for most conditions. Taking 2-3tablets a day for relief warrants further investigation to understand what the problem is and address it specifically. Also, you have been on these medications for too long that the cause should be investigated and treated instead of simply controlling the symptoms as has been the case up to now. I am happy that you are scheduled for an upper endoscopy that would open the way for a more thorough evaluation and treatment at this time.
