Is Taking Iron Supplements Recommended After Analyzing Lab Reports?

I ran some lab test today; Results, HGB has been dropping for the past 8-9 months. HGB=12.2 ,MCV 77.1, MCH 23.9 MCHC 31.0, TIBC 537.9,Iron 44.4, Transferrin 414.305 ,%SAT 8, B12 369 ,Ferritin 6.32 Folate 5.5, . Should I start with trying to increase Fe in my diet? I have read that I should not take iron supplements without first consulting a Dr. is this true?

hi, you have mild iron deficiency anemia. your hb, mcv and mch is slight low suggest mild hypochromic microcytic anemia and your iron and ferritine is slight low suggest mild iron deficiency, you should take iron rich food, like jegarey, dates, green leafy vegetables, dry fruits etc, and then only if needed go to the consultant and take oral iron supplements tablets as per your doctors advice.
thanks for using health care magic.
