Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went for an MRI this morning and lasted about 3 mins. Have never had a feeling like I experienced while in there. Will be going back on Monday and have been prescribed 2 valium, 1/2 hour before procedure. I am 65 and take no medicines, what is the valium going to make me feel like and will I be able to function at work afterward?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, thanks for your query. I have read your query & understand your concern. The valium is helpful in relieving anxiety. It has no effect other than that & is quite safe when taken prior to MRI. You will be more comfortable during the process of MRI.. please don't worry. Thanks.
