Is Taking Ursodiol Advisable While Having Bile Duct Stones?
My gall bladder has been removed, My common bile duct developed stones afterward which had to be removed about once a year. I now take two ursodiol 300 mg. twice daily with good results. My question, is: Is this med necessary and can I reduce it to one- per-day since I have cut out fried foods, red meat and follow the Meteraian diet. ?

The usual doses for the treatment of gallstones or biliary stones is 8-10 mg/kg/day, divided into several doses (for example twice a day as in your case).
It is important to visit your doctor regularly to check the evolution of your illness.
While taking this medication must be performed laboratory tests every few months to check that are dissolving gallstones and your liver is functioning properly.
