Is Taking Hydroxyzine Safe Instead Of Benadryl To Treat Drug Allergy Reactions?

my husband takes high blood pressure medicine amlodipine besylate and lisinop/hctz. He has some kind of allergic reaction going on on his feet when we got home tonight(not from his Medicine) and i am wondering if he can take hydroxyzine because I don t have any benadryl.

He can use the hydroxyzine. There are no known interactions between these medications so he can safely use the hydroxyzine.

Amlodipine can cause swelling of the feet as well.

Pedal edema (swelling of the feet) can occur with heart disease, liver or kidney disease as well so if it continues, he should be assessed.
