Is Taking Flonase And Benadryl Safe For Neck Soreness And Nasal Congestion?

I wanted to know if I need to see an ENT specialist. My primary doctor has prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days. I have Aetna Open Choice PPO so I can go directly to a specialist without a referral. My symptoms are swollen lymph node underneath my left ear, congested nose and a sore neck. I do suffer with allergies and take Flonase daily. For allergic reactions I take Benadryl for itching and rashes that seem to come from lemons or limes.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have neck soreness and nasal congestion which is because of infection travel down the respiratory track and affected whole area an leads to granular pharyngitis and sinusitis. You can take Flonase and Benadryl for the time being , but it is very important to find exact reasons .I would suggest you to again consult your ENT specialist for proper examination. He/she may prescribe further antibiotic course and stronger antibiotics. Take combination of amoxicillin along with Levocetrizine. You should put xylomist nasal drops to prevent congestion. You should take chicken soup along with along with lemon tea. Take diet rich in vitamin C. Take decongestant nasal sprays containing mucinex for instant relief.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
