Is Taking Dilantin Safe Medication To Treat Pain?

Hi, I throw up most pain killers. When I had my shoulder replaced 3 years ago they gave me a drug for the pain that didn't make me sick and I thought it was called dalotin but I can't remember the spelling of it. Would it be the same thing they use for seizures?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

No Dilantin is not safe to treat pain. Dilantin is trade name for phenytoin. It is used for treating seizures in patients & should not be used for pain control.
You must have been given dalotin 4mg, it is trade name of hydromorphone. It is a very potent painkiller of opoid class. It is also very addictive & narotic. You should use this by prescription of a doctor.

you should also consult your orthopedition

Hope this information helps
