Is Taking Benadryl Safe Instead Of Promethazine For Skin Rashes And Fever?
how is Benadryl different from promethazine Winthrop? I have a child with an itchy rash over tummy and back, no fever etc. I think it is caused by environmental allergens. I have used the promethazine before bed which gives him a good night sleep but does not seem to improve the rash itself.

Benadryl can be substituted for promethazine to control rashes as it has antiallergenic properties.
Instead, you may use Tablet. Levocetrizine once a day as well, which is non-sedative antihistamine.
However, for fever, you need to administer Paracetamol.
