Is Taking Althea Safe For Pimples On Face And Scalp?

Hi doc. I have a question. Would it be safe to use althea even if your not active in sex? Because I'm having a pimples at my back through head and then down to my face. Before when I'm active in sex i used althea and my pimples at the back and face was lost. It makes my skin smooth. Now, can i used it even if I'm no longer active in sex? Thankyou. Ü

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain Althea is a combination of contraceptive and anti-androgenic hormones..
As you have pimples I would suggest you to better take topical treatment rather than going for hormone replacement therapy..
Although it may work for you but can also disturb the normal functioning of the hormone producing organs and causes dependence..
I would suggest you to consult a trained Gynaecologist and a Dermatologist before proceeding for taking hormones..
As of now you can wash your face with Salicylic acid containing facewash wash, apply gels containing Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide..
Do cool compresses over the face..
You can also apply Retinoids like Adapelene gel at night..
Avoid oily food and limit sun exposure..
