Is Swollen Lymph Node Suggestive Of Thyroid Cancer?

I recently had a work physical in which a knot in my neck was noted. I was prescribed an antibiotic for a swollen lymph node. My mother had thyroid cancer and after finishing the antibiotic the knot is still there. Within the last month I have had severe exhaustion to the point I ve lost my job. I ve also been having panic attacks which wake me from sleep and a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach of impending doom. Help I feel like I m losing my mind!

No need to panic. Swollen lymph nodes usually does not denote thyroid cancer. Most common cause of swollen lymphnode is infection. thats why you have been prescribed antibiotics.
Still if you are very doubtful about your thyroid status , you can get T3 , T4 , TSH tests done , which will tell whether you are suffering from any thyroid related problem or not.
