Is Surgical Removal Of Hematoma Advisable?

Hello I had inguinal hernia repair done by laparoscopic surgery it was on the right side and it s been 1 month about date and I started to develop as what my doctor called with a seroma or hematoma and so at a month out I m essentially traded a large soft hernia they could be pushed back in on occasion for something that s about the size of a hard lunch boxes Apple my doctor did some should have a sonogram and then also a CT scan and thinks it is not there s almost certain it is not another hernia that the hematoma should resolve on its own just going to question if this is normal or not or should I get a second opinion from someone thank you!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Usually hematomas resolve on their own though, if it is large, this can take a few weeks and it may not resolve completely.

In the cases of large hematoma there may be a small amount of scar tissue that remains.

You should consider a second opinion if you are not comfortable with the diagnosis.

I hope this helps
