Please type your query here...Hello sir, my husband is 30yrs now. he has mitral valve prolapse. he had a symptoms of this on his 10th age. he is taking medicines from that day. i want to know the seriousness of this disease. Wil he need a surgery? pls guide us on this regard.

In majority of cases Mitral valve prolapse is benign condition unless it is having leakage of the valve i.e. mitral valve regurgitation.Depending on severity of regurgitation one can decide need of surgery.I request you to inform me detail echo report,so that i can guide you properly,
