Is Surgery Recommended For Deviated Septum While Having Recurrent Sinusitis?
well..... I am thinking about having sinus surgery. Last year I had a Reoccurring sinus infection for 5 months, was on 5 months of antibiotics. In May this year I saw a specialist and he said to have surgery - I have a deviated septum. Im not thrilled about surgery and am a little sceptical it will solve my problem
A deviated septum is one of the differential diagnosis of chronic sinusitis, although clinical symptoms might differ slightly.A deviated septum commonly presents as one sided nasal blockade, rarely a grossly deviated septum can cause obstruction of sinus drainage system. In such cases you should go for septoplasty surgery. To rule out sinus pathology,CT scanning of nose and sinuses is an option
