Is Surgery Needed For Tortuous Esophagus?

I have a mildly tortuous esophagus....I was put on Omeprazole 40mg qd......the Dr. wants to order an esophagram...is this really necessary. I had a problem swallowing but my 1st Endoscopy they dialated the area and it s been better. What do you think ?

I think that you should definitely do esophagogram since this is simple procedure and it will show us if there is stenosis or progression of toruosity. So I dont see reason to avoid this. This doesnt mean that surgery is required, especially if your symptoms improved.
