Is Surgery Needed For Recurring Liver Abscess?

Hello sir My mother is suffering from recurrent liver abscess from past 2 months .. 3 times aspiration is already been done. Currently she is on drain pipe. But is not also helping her ... Stomach pain is their with vomting and high fever Recently dr. Said to go for surgical open surgery. I want to know what to do ... Regards Dev 0000

Hello,
If the aspirations and draining are not working the only option to get these abscesses healed may be surgery. Abscesses do not respond to antibiotics, they have to be drained to heal.
