Is Surgery Essential For The Pilonidal Sinus?

hello doctor. im 27 yrs old female i had pilonidal sinus in 2008 and the pain was unbearable.wen i went 2 the doctor(he was a surgeon by luck), he on the spot took a knuife and tore it. lots of pus came out and i was hospitalized for 5 days they did the dressing twice a day removed every thing. but after 6 months again i had this but this time i went 2 the doctor on the spot. he told the infection has just begun and gave me sed plus tab. and glycerin to apply after 2 days pus came out of its own.after that it has been 3 yrs i was well but it has come again. i went to the doc he gave me the same medicine and glycerin to apply after 3 days the pus came out of its own. shud i need surgery. he asked me not to sit foe a long time. but thats not possible as im working in an office.please help

Pilonidal Sinus as such has a good rate of recurrence even if a small portion of it remains unremoved. Also the habits like long sitting in one place make its recurrance more.

As you said you are again having the same problems like you had first. I suggest you to again take a visit to a surgeon and get it removed. But you strictly need to heal up your body and wound. Also you must change the habit of long time and hour sitting on one place.
