Hi.I m 36 yrs old n had pivd c5-c6 in apr16.n numbness in right arm n tingling in fingers.my Neurosurgeon has suggested surgery.but another good neurologist has said dat with exercises,i can get better.so i did physiotherapy and exercises for almost 2 months n i felt improvement.but since I m working( a desk job) now the pain in arm, numbness n tingling in fingers is again recurring.for how long can i prolong surgery?? N if i continue bearing the pain ,is it likely to damage my nerves?? Pl advice.
Brief answer, Better go to surgery as 2 months physiotherapy was not effective for you.
Detailed explanation, 1. I read your query and I am happy to help you. You mentioned that having numbness and tingling sensation in right arm and fingers due to prolapsed intervertebral disc at c5-6. 2.Since 2 months even after physiotherapy still the problem exists not as serious as before. 3. I suggest you to go for surgery. 4. If the numbness and tingling sensation persists for more than 2 months then there is chance that the nerve damage is high.
Hope this information helps you.
