Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Take that Mtp kit which has 5 tablets. 4 of the tablets look similar and one has different colour.

First, take a dose of different colour tablet (mifepristone) by mouth. Mifepristone causes the placenta to separate from the endometrium. It also softens the cervix and increases uterine contractions to allow the uterine contents to pass.

Then, you take 2 tablets of misoprostol by mouth (dissolved between the gums and cheek) or insert them vaginally, usually after 24 to 26 hours of mifepristone. Remaining 2 misoprostol tablets can be taken after 4 hours by mouth or vaginally, which ever way you prefer.

Misoprostol causes uterine contractions so that your body passes the uterine contents. Better you take misoprostol at home. You will get pain and then the pregnancy ends (like a miscarriage) at home.

It is better you take as per doctor's advice. First visit befor the starting the treatement. The second visit is a follow-up appointment, usually scheduled about 2 weeks after the first visit, to make sure the pregnancy has ended and no complications are present.

If a medical abortion is not successful, a surgical abortion is then done to complete the process because misoprostol can cause fetal abnormalities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Swetha Dhananjay
