Is Stomach Pain Normal During Pregnancy?

I am 38 weeks pregnant and I have been getting a sharp pain on the right side of my belly button - it feels as though my flash is tearing close to the surface. Is that just because baby is pushin on the right side a lot or could it be bad, like my sac ripping?

Hello,
If the baby is lying to the right, your pain could be due to the stretching effect; this is aggravated by movement of the baby. At this stage of the pregnancy, as there is little room for the baby and also there is decrease in the proportionate amount of liquor, sharp movements are felt with more impact. If the sac rips, you would see some amount of bleeding and this may/may not be followed by leakage of liquor. Please take rest in the left lateral position and contact your consultant for further help. Wish you safe motherhood.
