Is Squint Eye Curable At The Age Of 25 ?
i am a 25 year old male....my right eye is squint..turning outside......i have had a surgery at sankara netralaya in Chennai when i was about 6 years old....and i have been prescribed to wear glasses with powers +.05 (left) and +.25(right) by my doctor ..i have continuously done so till about 2005 but with no positive results......hence my question is...will it be possible to cure it at my age? if so, how? it is effecting my self esteem.....i cannot bear to look people directly in the eye due to this...

a + power increases the divergent squint.you have to stop using these glasses.The squint will be corrected after surgery,but you have to have proper assessment of the level of squint to plan the type of surgery needed

hello,
You are having exotropia that is your eyes are going outside.Sometime squint reoccur even after surgery & only wearing glasses will not help.You have not mentioned what is your vision in both eyes.Squint really causes social problem which you are facing so it is good to consult a squint specialist and go as per his advice

It is curable but you have to go for surgery second time.
Consult your ophthalmologist and discuss with him.

You need to be operated again , as the problem that you have can always recur , and as you were operated long back coming back of squint is a possibility . Can see a squint spl again.
