Is Spotting Normal After Taking Norethisterone?

Hi, I wanted to postpone my period while going on holiday. I was due to have a period tomorrow and started taking norethisterone on sunday evening. Since then, I m experiencing some spotting. Is this normal or shall I stop taking tablets? thank you for your advise. Ewa

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
For postponing the periods, you need to take Norethisterone pills at least 3 days before you are expecting your periods. You need to continue taking it for 5 days and stop. Bleeding would take place by 1 week following stopping the pill intake.
If you take it late (nearing to your periods), it may not be effective as it should be and you could experience such spotting intermittently. Since you have began, kindly take the medication for at least 3 days and then stop.
