Is Soreness And Swelling In Bicep After Having Recovered From Bicep Tenodesis Normal?

I had a bicep tendodisis on June 29, 2011. I have been doing well and the shoulder/arm feels strong after lots of therapy. My daughter had NWB foot surgery 4 days ago.. she was fainting in the bathroom this morning, and I was trying to hold her up (about 180 lbs) and obviously could not hold her- I heard a pop in the front of my bicep and then pain. It is very sore and swollen right now. I have been icing it and taking Aleve. What are your thoughts on what has happened.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a muscle strain.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

I also suggest Using Voltaren cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi, General &Family Physician
