Is Sore Throat A Symptom Of HIV?
hi, around 6-7 weeks ago i had unprotected sex with a girl from sweden. today i experienced a really bad sore throat and was wondering if sore throat alone is a symptom for hiv.
i dont have a fever or rash
do i need testing

only unprotected sex is not lead to that symptoms so early
sore throat is part of respiratory track infection
it is not suggest HIV in any way
so relax
because its transmission period is so long
if your partner is not HIV infected than its not chance to have HIV
so be relax

Sore throat can be a symptom but it is very non specific. People with HIV have reduced immunity, hence they can get infections easily, and hence even sore throat can be manifested. However, there is no way i can associate your sore throat with HIV. If you had protected sexual intercourse, then there is nothing to worry. If you had unprotected sexual intercourse, then it is better to rule out HIV by taking a HIV combo test. It will help you to stop having these thoughts and also help your anxiety.
