Is Sonography Advisable For A Child Having Urine Infection?
Dear Sir, My daughter having 2.6 yrs of age shows the PUS Cells 8-10/hpf after doing the urine test (Same ratio also happened 1 year before also). During the test conducted she was having fever and cold. Doctor suggest to do the culture test/sonography. Well my worry whether she has necessary to do the sonography test? Thanks
Hello. Welcome to HCM. Thus is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
It seems like an urinary tract infection considering the urine report. As because it has happened twice in a year, a culture for the specific organism is required to start specific antibiotics and treat it completely. Also ultrasonography is advised to rule out kidney causes. I would suggest you to get the culture done. If required, then USG can be done later.
Hope this was helpful. Regards
