Is Smoking Cannabis Advisable While On Doxycycline For Urethral Infection?

Hi, I am currently taking doxycycline for a urethra infection. I am also a regular cannabis user and am quite dependant on the drug. Since I started taking this antibiotic I have stopped with the cannabis cold turkey, however after a few days it has become quite difficult to maintain this and hence I am wondering whether it would be safe for me to smoke a little bit of cannabis without it having a reaction with the doxycycline..

Hello
Thank you for writing to HealthcareMagic
I understand your concern.
There have not been reported any interaction between cannabis and doxycycline .Cannabis will not interfere with doxycycline. However if you want to give your body the best chance possible to recover from the infection you are probably best to avoid it until you have recovered.

Best regards
