Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have deeply infected tooth which is leading to formation of dental abscess formation due to which there is pus formation below the root tips of the tooth and near bone. as level of infection is high smoking will impair healing. It can lead to persistence of infection and formation of cysts and any malignancy. You cannot cure the infection completely by taking antibiotics alone you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you to get an IOPAR [x-ray] done to rule out the exact cause of the swelling and in case of deep infection in tooth either root canal treatment or extraction of tooth followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain tooth abscess is due to infection in the tooth and as it is already very painful, smoking can cause further inflammation inside the oral cavity due to heat and chemicals and can even worsen the pain..
You should completely keep smoking curbed and should take a course of antibiotics and painkillers as well as consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and get the tooth treated..

An x ray can help in ruling out the tooth condition and if tooth can be saved root canal treatment can resolve the problem while excessive decay can be treated with extraction of tooth..
