Is Sleeping After Gym Session Dangerous?

Hi, I am 27 years old. I have started going to gym again now, after a gap of about 4 months or so. Earlier I was in a normal 9-6 routine, which effectively used to become 10-9. I used to gym early in the morning (7-8), come back, get ready and leave for office. I used to have loads of work at office, so never used to feel sleepy through the day. But now, my work starts at about 2pm. I still gym in the mornings and am usually back home by max 9 am. I come back from gym, while away time till about 11 am, and then go to sleep for about 2 hours! Its a very good sleep that I get.. but I am concerned whether the sleeping after gymming nullifies the effect of gymming?

Hello there,
Actually sleeping post a gym workout is good for your muscles as it would help them rest adequately and attain more mass but it is not so good for your metabolism. So if you are someone who has low body fat then sleeping would not affect you much but if you already have higher body fat then sleeping soon after a workout puts your metabolism back into slow phase.

Hope this helps,
Dr Arun A
