Is Shingles Around Lymphedema On Arm A Cause For Concern?

I am a breast cancer patient---16 years cancer free but I do have lymphedema in my right arm which is where the shingles are. Do I take extra special precautions? I have had cellulitis several times and have managed that with Keflex. as of now I am on the second round of Biaxin for a sinus infection. are there any addtional precautions I can take?mThank you so much - Mary

Hi dear....No I think you are fine with Keflex for cellulitis and Biaxin for sinus. But for shingles, i would suggest a topical acyclovir cream. That will just do to care of it. No shingles around lymphedema on arm shouldnt be of concern.Take care Mary
