Is She At Risk Due To Penetration Into Vagina With Onychomycosis Fingers?

Good afternoon. I am a male in my 30s with onychomycosis on several of my fingernails. I want to seek treatment but could not afford it until now. Earlier today, I penetrated my girlfriend with the fingers without onychomycosis. Is she partially at risk (and for what) and what can I do immediately to fix this? Thanks,

Hi,

Chances of spread of onychomycosis to vagina from the infected fingers, though are less with just one episode, still, theoretically she may be at risk for this infection. Hence, the best prophylaxis will be to give her a course of oral anti-fungal for 3-5 days like Terbinafine, Fluconazole, Ketoconazole or Itraconazole etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
