Is Severe Upper Abdominal Pain A Symptom Of Pancreatitis?

I have pretty constant pain at what seems to be the valve going into my stomach. I ve taken omeprazole for many years. I have increased the dosage to three times per day, and have added over-the-counter pepcid, also three times a day, alternating with the omeprazole. The pain wakes me up while sleeping and hurts pretty much all day. I no longer have a gall bladder or appendix; my Sigmoid colon is also gone. Could this pain be related to a pancreatic condition?
