Is Severe Stomach Ache A Symptom Of Urinary Infection?

I think I have a urine infection , I have been very uncomfortable sinse last Monday, I have a pain in my left side which I have been getting for many years off and on, I have had various things done to look at this a scope and and internal scan nothing was ever found. I associated this with periods and as I am now 59 don t have them since a few years, however the pain seems to have returned in the last few months. My proble just now is I think a urine infection, I have taken 3 packets of cystisis relief but this has not helped, I have handed a sample into my surgery on Thursday but no results yet so they ate not keen to subscribe antibiotics. I have to get up every 2 hours during the night , am drinking loads of water, cut outthe coffee canyou suggest anything else?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM....

For diagnosis of UTI, cystitis or kidney infection first get your urine routine microscopic examination for pus cells or presence of cast ....

USG also helpful along with urine examination..
And if needed urine culture and sensitivity done to choose antibiotic ....

In UTI usually painful urination present ....
So with USG , urine examination first confirm diagnosis of UTI ....

Drink lots of fluid orally ....
Cranberry juice useful in UTI ....
Avoid taking excess spicy foods .....
Orange, apple, papaiya useful in UTI.

Consult physician for examination...

Take care ....
I find this answer helpful
