Is scabies a contagious disease?

I just found out I have been around a family that has scabies and was recently treated for it! My doctor prescribed a cream to my family for a just in case but I am now overly itchy and worried my family will break out! My husband says I m just over reacting that s why I am itchy and parinoid. Since I used this cream does that mean we are in the clear?
