Is Running And Lifting Weights Safe With Pain In Leg While Bending?

I cannot sit with right leg bent (in flexion) without great pain. Days prior to this pain it felt like my hip needed to pop. Now I can walk without pain, but certain movement sent sharp pain in my groin. I exercise often, but I don t want to make it worse. Should I continue running and lifting weights?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are difficulty in bending leg and pain in the groin on certain movements . I think you have osteoarthritis of hip joint, but it can be confirmed by hip x-ray AP and lateral view . In my opinion you can continue running and lifting weight till the limit they are not painful. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
