Is Retesting Of HIV At Frequent Intervals Advisable?

hi im an african male aged 30. four months ago i had an incidence which feel puts me at risk of expisure to hiv. was had protected vaginal sex with a stripper, she also gave me oral sex...one after started experiencin very high temperature..now i hv stomach aches, joint pains losss of appetite white patches on tongue and sore throat. hv tested at 2, 3 and 4 months using blood tests (antibodies) and these were negative. could b negative and move on with my life or still need to retest at six months?

dear,
the basic concept in hiv testing is that it has a window period in which every test will come negative except p24 antigen assay which is not performed routinely.
as ur mentioned symptoms it is quite unusual to have symptoms of hiv so early as the window period varies from months to years.
ur symptoms are suggesting about possible yeast or ureaplasma infection which may have arthralgia and swollen joint with fever.
i ll suggest you to visit a venerologist and get tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
u can write back for f'up.
for hiv u can get tested every 6 months.
