Is Radiating Pain From Legs To Buttocks A Symptom Of Sciatic Nerve?

I am having horrible pain running down both of my legs from my buttocks down the back of legs on both. I am hurting anytime I stand or trying to walk. When I lay down or set down pain subsides. Could it be pressure from my sciatic nerve? I ve had 3 back surgeries & have fallen twice. Could I have injured something? The pain is so horrific I may go to ER. What do you suggest?

Hello,

Symptoms. Pain that radiates from your lower (lumbar) spine to your buttock and down the back of your leg is the hallmark of sciatica.

You might feel the discomfort almost anywhere along the nerve pathway, but it's especially likely to follow a path from your low back to your buttock and the back of your thigh and calf.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
