Is Rabies Transmission Possible Despite No Dog Bite?
hi, a bitch wihich is vaccinated (also sterlised) came running from outside and rubbed her bottom over my pants. as a natural response i touched the pants with my bare hands (which ususlly has cuts from kitchen work) . I asssumed that the moist things could be fluid from some dog with which this bitch might have mated. if that dog is rabied what are the chances of me getting rabied. it took me 10 minutes to actually go and wash my hands and the area where she rubbed herself.

HI Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .
If the bitch is really vaccinated for Rabies then no chance , but if you are not sure then there is a chance since there has been an exposure to your cut wounds .
If you can watch the dog for 10 days and nothing happens to the dog then there is no need to Rabies vaccination but if you can't watch the dog for 10 days or if the dog dies in the 10 day periods then you need to get Rabies vaccine .
Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask. Happy to help you. Regards.
