Is Pushing And Shoving Normal In A 2 Year Old Child?

I am being told by my babysitter that my 2 year old is now pushing and shoving, we don t do this at home as she is an only child and my husband and I don t do this. I think she is learning this from the other children at the day care, but the babysitter is saying that pushing and shoving is normal at this age. Is this true, or should I be concerned that this is happening with the other children at the daycare. Thanks.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Yes, pushing and shoving is normal behaviour at this age. But it does not mean that it should be allowed to go just like that. The child should be given a time out for that or a favourite toy should be taken away for pushing and shoving so that it does not become a habit.
I hope i have answered your query
