Is Protein Diet Advisable While Suffering From Jaundice?

My daughter 6 years old is suffering from Jaundice and Total Bilirubin is 2.47. She is also having swelling of feet. Pus cell 15-20/HPF also found in urine test. Doctors are giving antibiotics and asking us to give protien diet also so that swelling in feet is reduced. Please advise.

Hi and welcome.
Well protein lack is one of the causes of oedemas and swelling and protein diet will certainly help her to recover sooner. She should have natural proteins in meat and vegetables and eat less sweets and more boiled food and fruits. But exact cause of jaundice should be found and treated because diet for itself may not be enough for recovery. Wish you good health. Regards
