Is Prominent Temple Veins A Cause Of Concern?

The veins on my temples have become more prominent. I have no hair covering them any more, and they've always pulsated large after I work out. I am in excellent health, low BP, good pulse (resting +/- 53). Should I be concerned? If so, about what? If not, is there anything I can do, at least for the aesthetic if nothing else?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Prominent veins on temple area with pulsations can occur due to some inflammation like Temporal Arteritis. Such prominent veins are seen normally after strenuous exercise and no need to worry. But if these veins show pulsations and cause pain then need evaluation. You have normal BP so this also ruled out temporal arteritis. Still have some doubts then visit a doctor and get your ESR test done. In most of cases with temporal arteritis ESR has been found to be increased. If there is pain then OTC analgesics like Paracetamol can help.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care.
