my aunt, 65 years old, with asthma for many years now recently diagnosed with advance stage of lung cancer. In hospital care, her lungs have been drained because of water repeatedly. After drainage, she cannot breathe again because water gets in her lungs. How long does she have to live.

Hi

Your aunt is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer.
Since there is fluid in her lungs i would recommend a chest drain in her case for continuous drainage of the accumulated fluid.
Average survival time varies from 6 to 9 months.

Regards
DR De
