Is Pregnancy Possible With Iud Inserted?

I HAD AN IUD INSERTED 5/17/11. BEFORE THEN, I WAS HAVING IRREGULAR PERIODS AND HAD MULTIPLE CYST ON EACH OVARY. I HAVE HAD ONE PERIOD SINCE THE INSERTION OF MY IUD AND HAVE HAD UNPROTECTED SEX TWICE AND ONE NEGATIVE PREGNANCY TEST. NOW MY BREAST ARE REALLY SORE AND I HAVE REALLY SEVERE ABDOMINAL PAIN AND I AM ALSO MOODY ALMOST AROUND THE CLOCK. IS THERE A POSSIBILITY THAT I COULD BE PREGNANT?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

No, if IUD is inserted, check the threads of your device, or if the life of the device is got over, irregular cycles will cause sore breasts due to hormonal imbalance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. V. Nagasravani, OB & GYN Specialist
